This is a compact, cobby, medium sized dog. Very intelligent, and very active! No need to show the same command or trick too many times, they generally get it, pretty fast. This is a very, very active breed. These dogs are not lap dogs, they need to run and never tire of "throw my ball, throw my ball" over and over and over again. And no they do not slow down with age. They are also fiercely protective of their loved ones, and their "property" so yes, they bark. They will grab your socks your hat and run off in an instant. If we try to hide a ball, even if it's the next day, they do not forget where it is. They have an excellent memory. The coat needs alot of care, to keep that "shabby look" they have. Weekly wash and blow outs to stay in a long coat. This is a breed that does matt quite easily. They come in all colors. Then there is the famous "pon smile" well in our Lola, it's a pon laugh,sometimes it's an Elvis smile, with the one side of the upper lip goes up! She's our only pon that laughs, and it is pretty funny, the butt goes one way, and the head another! But if you want to come home put up your feet and relax, you might check out a Lhasa....................!
